What it replaces

The shop already has a system. It is scattered.

A roster in a notebook, jobs in a group chat, permissions in somebody's memory. SmSt Works puts the same facts in one place and keeps them current while the day moves.

Before

  • 01The roster lives in a book. A new hire is written on a page nobody else can find.
  • 02Jobs move through chat. "Started" and "finished" are two messages, not a record.
  • 03Everyone can see everything. Or nobody can. There is no middle.
  • 04Stock comes out by hand. The job ends, but the shelf is not updated.

With Works

  • The team is one list. Each person has a rank, a status and a way in.
  • Every job has a shape. Waiting, running, succeeded or failed, with the time attached.
  • Ranks decide the view. Pages, buttons and rows change with the person.
  • Success moves stock. Inputs leave the shelf and outputs arrive, in one step.

Jobs that mean something

A job is not a tick. It moves the shelf.

Give a job its inputs and its outputs. When someone starts it, the floor can see it running. When it succeeds, SmSt Works takes the inputs out of stock and puts the outputs in. If it fails, the stock stays exactly where it was.

  • Every unit is tied to a product, so the shelf and the job never disagree.
  • The live timeline shows elapsed time, not a guessed start or finish.
  • A failed job leaves the stock alone and keeps the reason in the record.

Ranks, not guesswork

The right people see the right work.

A rank is a short list of permissions. Pages, actions and even rows in the ledger follow it. The owner always has every permission. Everyone else works inside the shape of their rank.

View

Decides which pages open.

No permission, no link. The page raises a clear stop instead of showing an empty shell.

Action

Decides which buttons work.

Adding stock, moving it, running a job or changing the books are separate switches.

Activity

Decides which rows appear.

An employee can see their own movements, or every movement. The same rule holds for finance entries.

The shop around the work

The people who come back, and the ones who supply them.

Works keeps the relationships beside the work. Loyalty points, supplier contacts and the guides the team reads every day all live in the same place as the jobs.

How to close the till

Count the cash, record the total, note the difference. A guide the whole team can open on the phone.

Start with the floor

Run the day without running after it.

Open SmSt Works on the phone in your pocket. The owner sees everything. The team sees what their rank allows.
